Innovative, colourful & sometimes over-designed food is contrasted by a restrained & simple decor in this popular harbourside restaurant. Elsewhere, an emphasis on aesthetics in cooking may mean that other departments are lacking, but here, chef Ramon Farthing’s passion for showy presentation goes hand in hand with his sound knowledge of food. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are combined into often flawless taste combinations. Despite the coastal location, you’re just as likely to find wood pigeon & calf’s liver as sea bass & scallops on the ever-changing menus. The extensive wine list is reasonably priced, given the 'rather upmarket labels on offer'.
