This large community local was built in 1937 for Portsea's Brickwoods brewery (see black and white photograph to the right), and faces the picturesque Baffins Pond. Latterly in the hands of Whitbread and now owned by the infamously aggressive Suffolk brewer Greene King, the pub offers a bar menu all day and has pool tables in one area.
